Springboks Win 2019 Rugby World Cup

South Africa defeated no ranked rugby union side England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup on Saturday at the Yokohama Stadium in Tokyo. Against all odds, the Springboks looked the better side and were deserving victors against a lacklustre Red Roses team that was a shadow of the team that knocked out the All Blacks.

It was the sort of game in which tactics more than talent mattered. Former Bokke coach Eddie Jones couldn’t use his knowledge of rugby to guide the England team to victory. It should be noted though that Rassie Erasmus had selected a fairly inexperienced Springbok team to compete in Japan. However, it seems like his decision paid dividends.

South Africa vs England: RWC Final

In the period of about 18 months; the rugby coach of the year, Rassie Erasmus propelled the Springbok team into the top of world rugby. In the past, his team was criticized for their lack of physicality and seldom bullied by teams like Italy. The Boks stuck to their game plan amid heavy losses and going down the rankings. In all of that, Erasmus made sure that the Boks restore their physical domination of teams, naming the first black African captain to lead his team in the process.

Wrap of Rugby World Cup Final

The Rugby World Cup Final the epitome of years of preparation. The display in the Webb Ellis Cup final was a defensive masterclass that could spell a bright future for this current crop of players. Should Erasmus keep the same players together, the Springboks can become a dominant force in world rugby. ?over the next four years leading up to RWC 2019 in France.

As far as omens go, it might take the Bokke another 12-years before they win the rugby world cup again. But for now, we will celebrate the victory. However, this current team has the capacity to establish a new dynasty, much like what New Zealand has achieved over the past eight years.
